AFPMBAI Head Office— The Association marked its 51st year of incorporation during its Main Anniversary celebration and opened its newly reconstructed Annex Building last September 1, 2016.
Blessing and Inauguration of the AFPMBAI Annex Building
Prior to the program proper, the Annex Building was blessed by Bishop Leopoldo S Tumulak DD, while Vice Chairman of the AFPMBAI Board, RAdm Allan B Rosal and AFPMBAI President and CEO, MGen Edgardo Rene C Samonte AFP (Ret) officially opened the establishment through a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The Annex building shelters the renovated cafeteria in which the executives’ lounge, kids’ playroom and nurturing room are also located. The kids’ playroom is an area where members may leave their children while they are transacting business in the Head Office. Also, the said building will house other AFPMBAI offices and multipurpose areas.
Main Anniversary Highlights
The Main Anniversary program was graced by Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, Gen Ricardo R Visaya AFP, represented by AFPMBAI Board Vice Chairman, RAdm Allan B Rosal AFP. The celebration was started through the Welcome Remarks of AFPMBAI Head, Sales and Operations Group and COO, RAdm Philip L Cacayan AFP (Ret) followed by the President’s Report delivered by MGen Edgardo Rene C Samonte AFP (Ret), and the Message of the GOH and Keynote Speaker, delivered by RAdm Rosal.
MGen Samonte boasted the Association’s steady increase in assets, making AFPMBAI still the largest mutual benefit association in terms of assets. “As recorded, our audited total assets for CY2014 was at P14.45Billion. In CY2015, this went up to P16.16Billion. (or an increase of P1.71Billion) This is continually growing with a registered balance of P17.26 Billion as of July 2016.”
During his report, MGen Samonte proudly recognized four (4) of the eighteen graduates of GRAnts for DEpendents (GRADE) Scholarship Program, who were present during the Main Anniversary Celebration. The GRADE Program is AFPMBAI’s scholarship program for dependents of killed-in-action (KIA) members.
Likewise, MGen Samonte conveyed his deepest gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the Association’s success for over five (5) decades. “I am truly grateful to the members of the Board, for their guidance and supervision; the Management’s responsible stewardship; the dedication and commitment of all employees; the hardwork of Sales Agents/Insurance Representatives; the support of our business partners and stakeholders; and above all, for the abiding grace of the Lord God Almighty.”
Also during the Main Anniversary celebration, outstanding, employees, long service awardees, best branch and extension offices, best AOR and best insurance representatives were also given due recognition.
