Your death benefit proceeds shall be given to your designated beneficiaries indicated in your Permanent Insurance Contract and/or MBAI Protek Basic Insurance Certificate. In the absence of such, if you are single, the proceeds shall be given to your parents. Hence, it is important to update your membership information with AFPMBAI, particularly if you change your civil status.
You are entitled to receive Policy Dividends if you purchased a participating insurance policy, such as a College Education Plan, Saver’s Protection Plus (10-15 Endowment Plan), and 10-Year Endowment Plan. Dividends are paid out yearly and start on the 4th policy anniversary.
MBAI Protek is the affordable basic membership insurance policy of AFPMBAI for the AFP, PNP, BFP, BJMP, and PCG. The plan has high insurance coverage, dismemberment and disability benefits, and killed-in-action (KIA) benefits. As required by law, half (50%) of the monthly contributions goes to the Member’s Equity Fund account and earns interest per year, withdrawable upon retirement or separation from the service.
A permanent insurance policy earns guaranteed cash values and has a maturity benefit equal to the face amount at the end of the policy. If you still do not have a plan with us, we recommend our 5-pay College Education Plan, 10-pay Saver’s Protection Plus, or our limited pay whole life plans.
Yes, have your membership validated first in order for the Membership Section to compute an estimate for you.
If your Insurance Application’s requirements are complete, it will be processed by Underwriting at AFPMBAI’s Head Office in Quezon City where the Association’s medical director is reporting. On the other hand, if it has incomplete information, it will be returned to you through the Insurance Representative who handled your application.
This deduction refers to your basic membership insurance policy, which is an automatic and mandatory deduction for AFP, BFP, BJMP, and PCG personnel from the time they enter the service.
For the AFP, ‘MBAI DUES’ or ‘MBAI PREM’ is equivalent to 0.5% of base pay monthly contribution, while ‘MBAI DUES ADDL’ is equivalent to 1.0% of base pay. You are already upgraded to 1.5% MBAI PROTEK if you have these two deduction codes in your payslip.
This refers to Special Group Term Insurance with a ₱16,000 death benefit collected by AFPMBAI on behalf of the national government. This group insurance coverage was effected by Presidential Decree No. 352 in 1973. The ₱12.00 cost of insurance is shared equally between the government and AFP personnel, thus, the ₱6.00 payslip deduction.
Please send a private message to Customer Service with your full name, branch of service, serial/badge number, and birthday via Facebook Messenger (@afpmbaiofficial) so that we can verify your accounts with us. We welcome any inquiry or service request from you.
We apologize for the continued deductions as we are also dependent on your Finance Center when it comes to deductions. It normally takes 2-3 months for your Finance Center to stop the deductions because your payslips are prepared in advance.

You can immediately avail of a MEDAL once the first monthly contribution for your MBAI Protek Basic Membership Insurance Policy or Permanent Insurance Policy is remitted by your Finance Center to AFPMBAI. The maximum loanable amount is ₱100,000 payable in three (3) years.
Salary Loan
You can avail of a Salary Loan when your Application for Permanent Insurance has been approved and the first monthly premium has been remitted by your Finance Center. The maximum loanable amount is the aggregate face amount of all permanent insurance policies of the Member.
