The financial literacy series continued its commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of the AFPMBAI members by hosting the third run of the series towards the last quarter of 2023.
In the pursuit of fresh insights about personal financial management, the Association’s Marketing team drew valuable recommendations from previous financial literacy experts. Among the distinguished speakers, Ms. Ma. Janice G Sabitsana, a Registered Financial Planner and Personal Finance Vlogger, was carefully chosen to share her expertise. Ms Sabitsana was joined by Ms Jha Paloma of Marketing’s Product Development team to host the program.
The series, driven by topics gathered from survey results of past seasons, covered six main topics along with a bonus subject. Each episode featured an engaging question and answer segment, allowing the audience to actively participate and seek guidance from Ms. Sabitsana, who eagerly addressed their queries with utmost proficiency.
The initial episode of the third season marked a return to face-to-face interaction, taking place after AFPMBAI’s 58th-anniversary members’ affair at the Tejeros Hall, Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers’ Country, Camp Aguinaldo, on September 22, 2023. Delving into the psychology behind personal financial management, the session set the stage for an insightful journey ahead. Another on-site session unfolded during the Sergeant Majors’ Year-end Consultative Meeting on October 17, 2023, at the same venue. With approximately 130 attendees, Ms. Sabitsana engaged the 40 to 55-year-old audience in a thought-provoking discussion about their retirement plans and financial goals.
Expanding its reach, the next four episodes embraced an online format. One featured on the Association’s monthly multimedia program MBAI-Connect, broadcasted through DWDD AFP Radio 1134 kHz AM, their official Facebook page, and YouTube channel. The live stream was also shared via AFPMBAI’s official FB page. In this episode, Ms. Sabitsana explored how one’s perception of money significantly influences financial management and the overall financial planning journey.
The remaining three episodes, produced in-house by the Marketing team of AFPMBAI, were streamed live through the Association’s official FB page. These episodes covered essential topics, including Long-term Investments, Risk Management (Insurance), Online Platforms, with an extra topic on Holiday Season Budgeting. The last episode was streamed on December 15, 2023, which concluded the third season.
