QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc celebrated its 61st anniversary on September 9, 2026, at the Novotel Manila, Araneta City. The milestone event, themed “Serving with Heart, Securing Tomorrow,” brought together uniformed services’ leaders, personnel, and honored guests dressed in Filipiniana, Barong, and official bush coats to commemorate more than six decades of dedicated service to the country’s military and uniformed personnel.
The ceremony began with a solemn invocation delivered by Chief Chaplain BGen Roy L Onggao CHS (GSC), followed by welcome remarks from MGen Nestor Florente DC Rayos PAF (Ret), AFPMBAI Corporate Services Group Head and Chief Corporate Services Officer, who provided a rundown of what to expect in the program. He added that “Getting older means getting wiser, stronger, and noticeably more financially stable. AFPMBAI protects the frontlines of your family’s future. May today’s celebration be a reminder of our collective strength, our shared vision, and our camaraderie.”
Consequently, VAdm Eduardo D Fabricante PCG (Ret), the Association’s Sales and Operations Group Head and Chief Operating Officer, presented operational highlights and sales performance milestones, emphasizing AFPMBAI’s ongoing financial strength and commitment to member welfare. “As a mutual benefit association, our greater responsibility is to contribute to the financial well-being and security of our members and their families. Moving forward, let us make sure that every member understands the value, protection, and security that AFPMBAI provides,” VAdm Fabricante remarked.
The annual report presented by MGen Peter Angelo L Ramos PA (Ret), President and CEO of the Association, was a celebration highlight, detailing AFPMBAI’s ongoing initiatives to improve financial protection and benefits for the armed forces, police, and other uniformed services. MGen Ramos reiterated that “Success is measured by the value we create and the difference we make in the lives of our members, customers, employees, and the communities we serve. We remain grounded in a simple but powerful principle: everything we do ultimately comes back to the people we serve.”
Towards the end of the anniversary program, Gen Antonio G Nafarrete PA, AFP Chief of Staff and AFPMBAI Chairperson, gave a keynote address honoring the Association’s service legacy, followed by a ceremonial token handover. He lauded the Association’s milestones, and at the same time challenged it, saying, “AFPMBAI today has more than PhP54 Billion in assets, and serves more than 300,000 members and their families. These figures tell us that this is a strong and substantial institution. More importantly, they tell us how much responsibility has been placed in our hands. This is how I understand, ‘Serving with Heart, Securing Tomorrow.’ It is not only an anniversary theme, it is a commitment we must prepare to fulfill.”
The celebration ended with an interactive raffle draw for attendees, demonstrating AFPMBAI’s appreciation for its stakeholders.
