AFPMBAI donated a rescue ambulance equipped with emergency life support systems to Camp General Artemio Ricarte Station Hospital (CGARSH) at the Western Command (WESCOM) in Puerto Princesa, Palawan during the traditional camp visit and “Talk To Men” program of General Felimon T Santos’ Jr, AFP Chief of Staff, last 25 February 2020.
CGARSH is the only military treatment facility in Palawan servicing the entire western command area. On the other hand, WESCOM is the guardian of Palawan, known as the nation’s last frontier; the defenders of the West Philippine Sea. It is considered the most strategic United Command in the Armed Forces. Hence, AFPMBAI’s donation makes it possible for emergency medical conveyance services to the enlisted men, their dependents and authorized civilians of the AFP in the particular command post.
During his speech, General Santos, remarked: “We thank the AFPMBAI for this social services program to the AFP. This donation will go a long way in providing the necessary means to provide assistance to save the lives of the men and women in uniform.”
WESCOM was represented by VAdm Rene V Medina AFP, Commanding General, WESCOM (leftmost); and Major Wilfredo S Abulencia MC, Commanding Officer, Artemio Ricarte Hospital, WESCOM (2nd from left) in the handover. General Santos, AFP Chief of Staff (3rd from right); MGen Rizaldo B Limoso AFP (Ret), AFPMBAI Area and Branch Operations Division Head (2nd from right); and Jeffrey Matthew L Uy, AFPMBAI Social Services Office Head (rightmost) represented the Association.
