Last 28 March 2022, members of the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy Marines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology witnessed the blessing and inauguration of the Association’s Bongao Extension Office (EO).
The said office is located at the 2nd floor, Midway Plaza Building in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, where a ribbon cutting ceremony was held, with guest of honor Capt Romeo F Castillo Jr. Capt Castillo represented his commanding general in the 2nd Marine Brigade, BGen Romeo T Racadio PN(M), in the said event. The Captain remarked, “Mabuti naman na may opisina na ang AFPMBAI dito sa Tawi-Tawi dahil napakahirap sa amin mag-file ng applications sa Zamboanga. Sasakay pa ng barko or eroplano, lalo na yung walang access sa internet, kasi mahirap ang internet sa Tawi-Tawi.” This was then reinforced by AFPMBAI’s Mindanao Head of Area and Branch Operations, Deonesio B Corong II, who responded, “Isa po sa aming misyon Sir, ang mas ilapit pa ang serbisyo ng Asosasyon sa ating mga miyembro.”
AFPMBAI’s Social Services Office Head, Jeff Matthew L Uy; and Zamboanga Branch Supervisor, Ms. Sharina A Deriza also witnessed Bongao EO’s inauguration, which was concluded by its blessing, led by Rev Adrian S Ahit.
