On September 10, 2024, AFPMBAI celebrated its 59th anniversary at Tejeros Hall, Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers’ Country (AFPCOC), Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The occasion brought together key figures, including members of the Association’s Board of Trustees, executives, managers, commanding officers, personnel of the various uniformed services, other government agencies, and private sector partners. It was a momentous event, honoring the Association’s storied past and continuing commitment to its members.
The program was led by dynamic emcees, Ms Lhiz Saxby and Mr Alvin Malibiran. MGen Henry M Doyaoen PA (Ret), Corporate Services Group Head and Chief Corporate Services Officer, officially opened the celebration, warmly welcoming members and esteemed guests to the AFPMBAI’s 59th anniversary celebration.
Throughout the event, the Association’s initiatives and milestones were showcased.
Sales and Marketing Updates
MGen Nathaniel Y Casem PN(M) (Ret), Sales Operations Group Head and Chief Operating Officer, presented the AFPMBAI’s ongoing projects and operational developments. Some key highlights included were:
- Establishment of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Extension Office
- Creation of five Regional Sales and Service Centers
- Php 2.4 billion in insurance premiums
- Php 8.01 billion in insurance loans
- Php 278.4 million in real estate loans
- Various infodrives, membership meetings, and caravans
- Donations to various service branches
- Distribution of policy dividends amounting to Php146 million for 68,700 policyholders
- Free Daily Hospital Income Benefit program
- Introduction of the MBAI Achiever – a new college education plan
- Launch of new loan products, including the Emergency Loan and Special MEDAL

AFPMBAI President and CEO RAdm Dorvin L Legaspi PN (Ret) presented additional accomplishments and emphasized the Association’s commitment to industry leadership. Key achievements included:

Keynote Address
MGen Wilbur C Mamawag PA (Ret), Vice Chairman of AFPMBAI, delivered the keynote address on behalf of AFPMBAI Chairman and AFP Chief of Staff Gen Romeo S Brawner Jr PA. He commended the Association’s resilience and dedication over the past fifty-nine years, highlighting its ability to transform challenges into opportunities that benefit its members.
With the theme “Breaking Ground: Adapting to Changes Towards Greater Things,” AFPMBAI reaffirmed its commitment to being a reliable partner to its members. The Association continues to develop initiatives such as establishing payment centers and collaborating with financial institutions to make it easier for members to manage their dues and access their benefits. These efforts are all driven by the evolving needs of its members, guiding AFPMBAI’s progress toward a brighter future.
